Orange Mountain Music presents "Philip Glass Solo," an album by Phil Glass featuring some of his most timeless piano works.
This record is both a snapshot of 2021 and a reflection on decades of composition and practice. In other words, a document of my current thoughts on music. There is also the question of place. It’s my piano, the instrument on which most of my music has been written. It’s also the same room where I have worked for decades amidst the energy that New York itself has brought me. The listener can hear the quiet hum of the city in the background or feel the influence of time and memory that this space offers. As much as possible, I made this record to invite the listener to enter this place and sit beside me."
This is his most personal record to date, offering a snapshot of his life and a portrait of eight decades of music through several cherished works.
