Forever becoming

Description

Before their hiatus in 2009, the members of Pelican had already firmly left their mark on the instrumental metal scene. This comeback presents us with a purer, more structured album. Recorded in Chicago with engineer Chris Common and featuring guitarist Dallas Thomas of The Swan King (replacing Laurent Schroeder-Lebec), Forever Becoming is a long meditation on the infinite cycle of life and death. It takes a great deal of experience and even more confidence to tackle the greatest and most monolithic of themes found in art, but this album proves that Pelican has both qualities in abundance and knows how to wield them brilliantly.
