Description

City of Echoes, released in 2007 on Hydra Head Records, marked a paradigm shift for Pelican. After the icy Australasia and its even more expansive and acclaimed follow-up The Fire In Our Throats Beckons The Thaw, their third album is a study in precision. Inspired by their relentless touring schedule after the release of The Fire, the Chicago quartet composed City of Echoes to be a lean powerhouse of uninterrupted melodic hooks and sawtooth rhythms that reflect the energy of live performances.
15 years after the album's release, Pelican and Thrill Jockey are proud to present City of Echoes in a newly remastered edition by Josh Bonati and including a full LP of bonuses, including the original album demos, alternative takes, and tracks that were originally only available on the rare Pink Mammoth EP.
