Le non sens du rythme

The pianist and composer of Catalonian origins is releasing a new album: 'Le non-sens du rythme, tout est dit!' (The Nonsense of Rhythm, It Says It All!). On this new opus, Pascal Comelade plays almost all the instruments... various pianos and keyboards, but also bass (a Rickenbacker), Indian harmonium, a few guitars, and even a tin can. His compositions evoke MC5, Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, and Suicide: a language that dances on a musical skeleton in perpetual motion through successive fusions, blending folklore and underground, repetitive music and popular songs, pataphysical riffs and toy instruments. He is joined by some of his old accomplices, notably Jac Berrocal (Catalogue) on trumpet and Tony Truant (Wampas) on guitar. René Vienet, an eminent Situationist, sinologist, filmmaker, and publisher, recites Arthur Rimbaud's poem 'L'orgie parisienne' (The Parisian Orgy) on the track that closes the album, a maxi version of the single 'Musique hypertrophique des remontoirs'.
