The New York jazz group is back with a third EP that is rhythmically and beautifully composed. For a few months now, and through their live collaborations with Nick Hakim, Princess Nokia, Dev Hynes, the Onyx Collective is starting to make a name for themselves on the New York cool jazz scene. Their leader Isaiah Barr is also featured on 3 tracks of David Byrne's latest album and made a cameo on saxophone with Ibeyi on the set of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. These newcomers to the New York jazz scene have already released 2 EPs ("Lower East Side Part One and Two") recorded DIY style in live conditions here and there during their improvised performances in venues, galleries, or music stores. Previously, they had released a collection of live recordings through the very selective streetwear brand Supreme in 2016. Adored by Pitchfork, Fader, etc., in France, Libération dedicated an article to them a few weeks ago and does not hesitate to call them the future of jazz. This first album "Lower East Side Part 3" will be released on June 15, and the cover is once again created by the artist Julian Schnabel.
