While the New York band OBITS has only been around since 2007, it's made up of seasoned musicians: RICK FROBERG (DRIVE LIKE JEHU, HOT SNAKES), SOHRAB HABIBION (EDSEL), SCOTT GURSKY (SHORTSTACK), and GREG SIMPSON. Following the success of "I Blame You," which was Rock n' Folk's album of the month upon its release, they are now releasing their second album, "Moody, Standard & Poor," recorded in Brooklyn with producer ELI JANNEY (RYAN ADAMS, THE RAPTURE) and engineer GEOFF SANOFF. For their latest effort, OBITS draw their influences from surf and garage, flirt with the punk rock of THE WIPERS, and offer a new sonic experience. 12 tracks for a turbulent journey to the confines of indie rock and garage punk, bearing witness to an epic duel between guitarists (FROBERG and HABIBION), refereed by SIMPSON's perfectly tuned bass, and driven by GURSKY's diabolical drumming.
