"Mayday" is the third album by Montreal artist Myriam Gendron. It follows her critically acclaimed previous albums "Not So Deep As A Well" (2014) and "Ma délire - Songs of love, lost & found" (2021), recently reissued by Sofa Records. Myriam began exploring the folk traditions of Quebec (and beyond) with "Ma délire", which combines traditional songs with musical interludes by people like guitarist Bill Nace (Body/Head) and renowned jazz percussionist Chris Corsano. "Mayday" presents an even more syncretic fusion of the elements Myriam uses to create her sonic universe. Most of the songs are sung in English and French, and they blend traditional and avant-garde elements. On this album, she is often accompanied by guitarist Marisa Anderson and drummer Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White), Montreal bassist Cédric Dind-Lavoie, and saxophonist Zoh Amba.
