III Limited Deluxe Edition

Description

Moderat, the alliance of Modeselektor (Gernot and Szary - Monkeytown, 50 Weapons) and Apparat (Sascha Ring - Mute) returns to close the trilogy begun in 2009 on Bpitch Control with the first installment "Moderat" and then continued with "II" released on Monkeytown in 2013. The group has therefore been working together since their respective solo debuts and has become, despite themselves, their biggest project, both artistically and commercially. At the outset, it was only a live project and they had not imagined going into the studio to record an album, let alone three! On the first album, it was truly the "head-on" encounter of their two worlds that we discovered, whereas the path undertaken since "II" and concluded on "III" is more about fusion, even symbiosis, since we can see that Moderat has become one and the same group. The strength of this 3rd album is that it brings together their songwriting talents with the power they develop live. From the very first moments of "Eating Hooks", you feel as if you are plunged into the world of "Walls", definitely Apparat's best album. Cottony melodies and sharp rhythms blend perfectly. "Running" sounds like Moderat at their peak, "Finder" brings to mind the UK scene post Burial, with the pop hook added. The further the album progresses, the more we understand that the trio has delivered the centerpiece of their discography, notably with the potential hits "Ghostmother" or "Intruder" to name just those. People in cinema say that contradiction creates believable characters: it is precisely contradiction that we find in Moderat's music: fun but depth, joy but melancholy... In the frenzy of strobe lights, Moderat will not only make you dance, it may well also bring a small tear to your eye. Deluxe 2CD version of "III", collector 8-panel digipack with spot varnish. Limited quantities.
Includes the album on the 1st CD and the first single, a bonus track and two remixes on the 2nd CD. Key tracks: "Running", "Reminder", "Finder", "Ghostmother", "Intruder"
