Asante

Description

McCoy Tyner increasingly drew inspiration from Africa for his late-60s Blue Note albums. With 1970’s Asante, he brought those influences to the forefront, thanks to the swirling, percussive rhythmic foundation of Billy Hart and Mtume, alongside Buster Williams, Ted Dunbar, Andrew White, and the voice of Songai. Stereo Tone Poet Edition, all-analog, mastered by K. Gray from the original tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl, and presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket.
