Before Butch Walker produced and/or wrote for major groups like (gulp) Pink, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, Weezer, Green Day, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift, he led this power pop trio fondly remembered. Hey! The album was first released as an independent release in 1998, but the band re-recorded nearly half of it when they signed with Elektra, which released it in 1999. The extra TLC was worth it, as the record found success with "Freak of the Week" and introduced Walker's catchy and sardonic self-deprecating writing to the masses (he also landed Marvelous 3 fashion spreads for Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein... they were, as they say, easy on the eyes). This reissue from Real Gone marks the FIRST time Hey! The album is available at retail on vinyl, and for its debut, we are pressing it on pink vinyl, with a printed inner sleeve featuring the lyrics. A 90s classic!
