Mannequin Pussy Presents "I Got Heaven": 10 Tracks Spanning Punk to Alternative Pop
Mannequin Pussy's music sounds like a resistant, galvanizing scream that demands to be heard. Across four albums, the Philadelphia rock band—comprised of Colins "Bear" Regisford (bass, vocals), Kaleen Reading (drums, percussion), Maxine Steen (guitar, synthesizers), and Marisa Dabice (guitar, vocals)—has penned cathartic tracks about desperate times.
Their new album, "I Got Heaven," is the band's most accomplished recording to date. Across ten ambitious tracks that abruptly shift from blistering punk to welcoming alternative pop, the album deeply addresses desire, the power of being alone, and how to live in an insensitive and hostile world. It's the project of a band doubling down on their unshakeable bond to make something furious, thrilling, and entirely alive. After the 2019 release of their critically acclaimed third album "Patience," Mannequin Pussy returned in 2021 with their EP "Perfect." They toured tirelessly for that album and added guitarist Maxine Steen to the official band lineup. The band changed their entire creative formula, choosing to write together in the studio in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, rather than slowly crafting songs at home.
