Transe de papier is first and foremost, now more than ever, a Lo'Jo album. A convergence of sounds, rhythms, and spirits from all over—the Indian Ocean, French chanson, Central Europe, jazz, North Africa, chamber music, and wherever else you care to imagine. It’s their personal Creole nomadism. A masterful arrangement of strings, acoustic instruments, and a few electronic effects, human voices, and rhythms infused with an intimate, poetic, shamanic vibration: disparate elements intertwine here as if they have finally found their place. From afar, the album welcomes a rare and faithful friend, Robert Wyatt. He has officially retired from music, but recorded the lyrics for Kiosco for Lo'Jo. His gentle voice is one of the small flames that make this album precious.
