Stain is the third album by Living Colour, released in 1993 after the previous albums Vivid and Time's Up. It is the first album to feature bassist Doug Wimbish (who has notably worked with Jeff Beck, Madonna, Mick Jagger, etc.). Stain presents a much heavier and more aggressive Living Colour, incorporating elements of thrash metal and industrial music. It reached #26 on the Billboard 200. The band disbanded in January 1995 after a tour with Bad Brains. Produced by Ron "Bad Brains" St. Germain, Living Colour's album Stain further showcased the band's darker side, as samples were now added to the sound mix. The tracks were more focused and streamlined compared to the overall compositions of Time's Up from the 1990s, but were just as impactful and thought-provoking.
