In 2017, Liam Gallagher released his highly anticipated debut solo album, 'As You Were'. The enfant terrible of Manchester worked with two producers for this album recorded in London: Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia, The Shins, Lily Allen...) who produced and played on four tracks, and Dan Grech-Marguerat (Lana Del Rey, Mumford & Sons, Tom Odell...). The result is exactly what one expects from a solo album by Liam Gallagher: a contemporary sound influenced by the 60s/70s for which he has a great passion. For the cover, he called on photographer and stylist Hedi Slimane. "As You Were" debuted at number one on the UK charts, selling more than the entire rest of the Top 10 albums in the UK combined, and achieving gold certification in its first week. A critical and commercial success, certified platinum in the UK.
