Lee Ranaldo, founding member of Sonic Youth and considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, offers us a new album featuring Sharron Van Etten, Nels Cline (Wilco), and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). Lee Ranaldo, the former guitarist/singer of Sonic Youth, returns with his twelfth solo album, Electric Trim, on the Mute label. Recorded in New York and Barcelona in collaboration with Raül 'Refree' Fernandez, Lee Ranaldo evolves into new musical territories by accompanying his live music with electronic beats and samples. He also collaborates with singer Sharon Van Etten, Nels Cline (Wilco), and New York author Jonathan Lethem for the writing of six of his tracks. “I am so excited about this record, it represents new developments, new directions for me, and I can’t wait to hit the road to play this music live. I am also happy to collaborate with Mute for this release - it feels like coming home, since Sonic Youth released its first records on Blast First / Mute,” says the artist.
