Le Peuple De L'Herbe returns with its 9th studio album, aptly named 'After Dusk'. The Lyon-based group masterfully, brilliantly, and insolently captures the anxious climate of our strange era, officially modern, but completely frightening. Urgency is everywhere, within reach of voices and riffs. The message is clear and the groove is transparent. Sharp rhythms from Spagg and Psychostick, subtle samples and synths, thick guitars from Varou Jan, often unsettling, elevated by the singing and lyrics of JC 001 and Oddateee, two phenomena at the top and in total symbiosis. The 11 tracks flirt with a masterstroke, skillfully wrapped in a sound atmosphere that is singularly old school, for a whole that is distressing but terribly enjoyable. In short, pure hip-hop nourished by the best influences of each. The People are free, it feels good!
