'Atlas', the 7th album by La Maison Tellier, marks the band’s big return to the folk rock of their beginnings. Fifteen years have passed, during which the French group has, like a stubborn craftsman, refined its know-how: the time has come for them to deliver a masterful album of music rooted in America, sung in French, over which the shadows of Neil Young and Gérard Manset hover. This album, whose recording was brought closer to live concert conditions, vibrates with the commitment of the five musicians, their telepathic conversations as well as their solitary escapes. They traverse it like tightrope walkers, on a ridge line between gravity and lightness, fervor and peace, alternating driving melodies and heart-wrenching ballads. As the album’s final notes fade away, five tightly clustered silhouettes remain, stars pinned into the sheet of the vast world, shining with their uncertain light. They have just offered their best: the twelve songs of 'Atlas'.
