Description

Four years after the ineffable Cerf Biche et Faon, Julien Gasc, the leader of Aquaserge, returns to us with Kiss me you fool !. This new album takes us far away, into clouds of sounds and twisted sentimental tales, towards a quest for enlightenment that traverses the rich palette of human passions.
The title is borrowed from a graffiti discovered in the ladies' restroom of a London pub. It is through this peephole that we view, as voyeurs, the paradoxical complexity of this record: both spiritual, noble, and degenerate, Julien struts with the nonchalance of a nocturnal dandy. A troubadour of modern times, he sings of unresolved love, the trivialities of everyday life, the quest for the absolute, and self-mockery.
The result of an artistic collaboration of excellence (Laëtitia Sadier from Stereolab, John Linger (Neils Children), Cathy Lucas (The Oscillation, Vanishing Twin), Joe Watson...), this contrasting and emotional, heterogeneous record, nonetheless forms a whole.
Here, surreal songs and decadent poems flow elegantly and with mirror games, effortless seductions. Against the current norms, Kiss me you fool ! cultivates its strong identity far from contemporary musical mundanities.
