"One bad thing for a good one!" Forced to cancel or postpone his concerts due to COVID and stay at home, Jonas Kaufmann took advantage of the lockdown to record a wonderful album of Lieder with his long-time friend and pianist Helmut Deutsch. "Selige Stunde," which can be translated as "The Blessed Hour," is the first recital in a series of recordings made by Jonas during the Corona crisis. This album offers an intimate and warm sound and covers the most prominent composers of Lieder, from Schubert to Brahms, including Mozart and Schumann, as well as Strauss, Mahler, and Liszt.
