Sony Classical is very proud to present one of the greatest lyrical events of this end of the year, the album Insieme - Opera Duets, a summit duo between two giants, the German tenor JONAS KAUFMANN and the French baritone awarded the Victoire de la Musique last year in the category 'best vocal artist' LUDOVIC TÉZIER. When they first met in the production of Werther at the Opéra de Paris in 2010, an obvious friendship transformed into a very intense professional and private bond. With the famous Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia conducted by the illustrious maestro Antonio Pappano, the album revisits all the major milestones of the two singers' joint professional careers, as well as new unexplored territories with a rarely recorded repertoire - from Verdi to Puccini, including Ponchielli - notably the French version of the Vêpres Siciliennes, usually performed in Italian. Don Carlos is recorded here in the French version of Verdi's opera stemming from the success of their French version of 2017 at the Opéra de Paris. It also includes Jonas's first performance of La Gioconda as well as Ludovic's very first interpretation in the role of Lago in Otello.
