John Scofield

Description

Jazz guitarist and composer John Scofield returns with a brand-new album. It is to the rhythm of his own pulse and his sole accompanying playing that John offers us the very first solo recording of his career. A wonderful synthesis of all the influences and idioms he has cultivated throughout his career. John is known for always having had a soft spot for rock and roll and country. Two musical genres he grew up with, which he celebrates here through luminous interpretations of Buddy Holly’s Not Fade Away and Hank Williams’ You Win Again. Between elegant and personal reinterpretations of standards such as It Could Happen To You and Danny Boy, Scofield presents his own compositions with timeless charm - some unreleased, others already known.
