The first duo album from the unlikely pairing of Jeremiah Chiu's modular synthesizer and Marta Sofia Honer's viola features intertwined improvisations with field recordings made during stays on the Åland archipelago in the Baltic Sea. An active cultural producer on the Los Angeles scene, Chiu is known for his visual art as much as for his music. A professor at Otis College of Art and Design, Chiu is a regular musical collaborator with Booker Stardrum, Celia Hollander, Dustin Wong, and Sam Prekop. Honer, for her part, has played sessions for artists like Adrian Younge and Beyoncé. She has also performed on recordings by Chloe x Halle, Angel Olsen, Fleet Foxes, Stanley Clarke, and others, five of which have been nominated for Grammy Awards.
