Quiet Life

The fact that the album Quiet Life by JAPAN was released in 1979 and 1980 is particularly symbolic for a band that was about to release a glam rock album, and who produced an album in a completely new style that would define the sound of the 80s. "Quiet Life" is the third, last, and biggest hit of the Hansa Records label. A precursor to the New Wave sound of the new decade, the album would become one of the great British classics.
"Quiet Life" is the subject of an exceptional reissue with a brand new remastering of the original album done at Abbey Road, including alternative mixes, B-sides, singles, rarities, and live recordings including the highly sought-after "Lost, Live at Budokan Show" from March 1980, which was previously only available in the form of a 4-track EP "Live in Japan".
The release of this new edition of "Quiet Life" includes a recently restored mock-up of the original album, new sleeve notes with contributions from the band members and the original producer, photographs, and rare and unseen memorabilia. This reissue was made in close collaboration with the original band members, Steve Jansen and Rob Dean, producer John Punter, and with the advice of the band's biographer Anthony Reynolds.
