CURE

Description

Jah Cure is one of the most influential reggae artists of today. An urban poet, he is capable of delivering protest lyrics about the social situation in his country, as well as romantic ballads, always full of hope, immense talent, and a golden voice. This new album, signed to VPRecords, demonstrates that he is the direct descendant of the greatest Roots Reggae artists of the 70s. Jah Cure was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and was discovered by Sizzla and Capleton, who saw in him the perfect embodiment of a New Roots singer. Unfortunately, just as his career was about to take off, in 1998 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. It was behind bars that he produced his finest tracks with singer-producer Beres Hammond, who truly launched his career. He was supported by many prestigious artists such as Sizzla, Capleton, Jah Mason, and Buju Banton, and was released in 2007 after 8 years of incarceration. Since then, he has established himself as the spearhead of the New Roots generation!
