Jackie McLean's 1960s output covered the entire gamut from hard bop to the avant-garde with his 1964 album 'Action' splitting the difference between the searing title track, the plaintive ballad "Wrong Handle," and the grooving "Hootnan" with a quintet of Charles Tolliver, Bobby Hutcherson, Cecil McBee, and Billy Higgins.
This Tone Poet Vinyl stereo edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold jacket.
