CALEXICO and IRON & WINE first collaborated in 2005 for the now cult EP *In The Reins*. At the time, SAM BEAM (IRON AND WINE) was one of the greatest hopes of Americana with two acclaimed albums. JOEY BURNS and JOHN CONVERTINO of CALEXICO were a band that had been touring for over 10 years, blending country folk and South American music for the first time. 15 years have now passed; the two groups have drifted apart while remaining close.
