La Macarena Su Roma, the first album by IOSONOUNCANE, was released in 2010. This album burst onto the Italian music scene, quickly capturing the attention of the public and critics alike. The album features some classics from the Sardinian musician such as Il Corpo Del Reato, Summer On A Spiaggia Affollata, I Superstititi, as well as the epic track that gives it its title: nearly ten minutes describing the defeated existence of a television addict, with no hope of redemption. But it captures all of Italy from that time, in what can be considered a concept album: from deaths at work at Thyssenkrupp to the environmental disaster of the terra dei fuochi, from the lives of call center employees to Berlusconi's regime disguised as fanaticism, to the unresolved tragedy of migrants. From this first record, it was clear that IOSONOUNCANE's writing was — and remains — completely different from that of any other Italian songwriter.
