Canadian trio Half Moon Run is back with a new album, 'Salt'. As always, the band stands out with a unique sound blending indie-rock, pop, and folk, rhythmic harmonies, and electronic music. The musical chemistry of Devon Portielje, Conner Molander, and Dylan Phillips is a continuous source of wonder, even for the band, and even now - a good decade later. Half Moon Run's collaborative power has remained constant and undiminished, and their new album Salt sees them revisiting the site of the initial forging of their bond, bringing to light visions that had been waiting since the very beginning. "Making this record, it was like we were boiling a huge cauldron of musical ideas, trying to reduce it to something elemental," Molander explains, examining the album's title. "And what we were left with was salt."
