Nick Talbot and his accomplices return more tormented than ever with Black Holes In The Sand. This mini album contains only 6 tracks, but the band easily recreates the dark and penetrating atmosphere that so characterizes Gravenhurst's sound. This record also marks a true evolution due to its instrumental richness, featuring instruments like drums, cello, and glockenspiel that bring a new dimension to the tracks. This is evident in the opening title, where Dave Collingwood on drums pounds out a haunting rhythm. The track indeed surprises with its almost aggressive nature. The band goes on the offensive and seems to want to push the listener to their limits and provoke a reaction. Still Waters, a ballad that ends with a long acoustic section, is of the same caliber.
