This 10 CD box set celebrates the first 10 volumes of the HAYDN2032 complete edition, which aims to record all 107 symphonies of Haydn by the 300th anniversary of his birth in 2032. A very ambitious project under the artistic direction of Giovanni Antonini, it is jointly produced by Il Giardino Armonico and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, whose initial volumes have received the most prestigious awards, such as the Gramophone Award, the Diapason d’Or, the Choc de Classica of the year, and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik… Created in collaboration with the Joseph Haydn Foundation of Basel, this series pays tribute to one of the most fundamental composers in the history of music, whose inventiveness and emotional richness are often underestimated… Antonini brings his passion and sense of color to this music, which he sees as "a kaleidoscope of human emotions."
