An album of unreleased Gary Moore tracks!
It was by delving into the archives of the Irish guitarist's family that previously unheard takes and alternative versions gradually came to light, reminding us of the mastery of this essential figure in modern blues. Among these original songs, "In My Dreams" was discovered, a succulent ballad on which Gary makes his guitar weep, and "Looking At Your Picture," another surprisingly melancholic moment.
But, before that, the album kicks off with a cover of Freddie King's "I'm Tore Down," which Moore loved to play live. Then he takes us into a virtuoso version of the Memphis Slim classic "Steppin' Out," before slipping in a superb "Done Somebody Wrong" by Elmore James, which highlights his exceptional touch. And what about "How Blue Can You Get," stretching over an immense 7 minutes, never before released, which is as vibrant as it is fervent a tribute to BB King's 1964 hit. After an alternative version of "Love Can Make A Fool Of You," the record soars into a stratospheric finale with the magnificently poignant "Living With The Blues."
