A GAME OF SEDUCTION WITH AN ELECTRO/DISCO/POP SOUNDTRACK. François Club is an observer of the night. Inspired by Hosono and Yellow Magic Orchestra, where tenderness is sipped slowly from iced glasses, by the SNCF romances of Elli and Jacno and by Sébastien Tellier, François brings us into the endless variety of clubland. Through characters, vignettes and emotions, his new album Cobra is almost a bestiary, or an herbarium, which, when opened, exhales the swirling scents of dancehalls and their inhabitants, much like Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. In collaboration with virtuoso musicians (Pieuvre, Mikado, Adrien Soleiman, Dominic Vanchesteing, Julia Jean Baptiste) François Club weaves and unravels the game of seduction at will. Moving from solemn laments sewn with gold and crimson to fresh linen refrains, he reproduces an ancient scene ad libitum: that of the battle of hearts crushed under the disco sun god.
