Fourplay is a contemporary American smooth jazz quartet that released its eighth studio album, Journey, in 2004. The lineup consisted of Bob James on keyboards, Harvey Mason on drums, guitarist Larry Carlton, and Nathan East on bass. The vocals included in some of the selections add a fresh dimension to these tracks, reflecting the previous albums. While Carlton leads the cover of Sting's "Fields of Gold," it is the opening riff, East's voice on the bridge, and his signature bass at the end that make it appealing. The entire album is written by him, except for the opening track, "Fields of Gold." For the very first time, Journey is being released on vinyl.
