Originally from Los Angeles, the members of FAMILY OF THE YEAR have forged indestructible bonds by living together in a dilapidated house and relying on each other for inspiration and support. Having toured with notably MUMFORD & SONS, GOMEZ, THE ANTLERS, and BEN FOLDS, they return with « Loma Vista ». Unsurprisingly, many songs from this very tight-knit group are sung in multiple voices, and quite a few feature joyful collective hand claps, as well as the participation of WILL MASON on one of the tracks. Some even give the impression that they should be sung around a campfire while wine flows freely. Enchanting choruses, relentless rhythms, melodies gracefully hovering a few feet off the ground, in short, the classic foundation of a good record in the genre. Except that with this group, all the ingredients are whipped up with immense energy and sprinkled with a terribly infectious joie de vivre.
