Originating from Los Angeles, the members of Family Of The Year have forged unbreakable bonds by living together in a run-down house and relying on each other for inspiration and support. Having toured with the likes of Mumford & Sons, Gomez, The Antlers, and Ben Folds, they return with "Loma Vista." Unsurprisingly, many songs from this very close-knit group are sung in harmony, and many feature joyful collective handclaps, as well as the participation of Will Mason on one of the tracks. Some even give the impression that they should be sung around a campfire while the wine flows freely. Enchanting choruses, relentless rhythms, melodies soaring gracefully a few feet off the ground—essentially, the classic foundation of a good album in the genre. Except that with this group, all the ingredients are whipped together with immense energy and sprinkled with a wonderfully contagious zest for life.
