Eric Johanson is an American blues rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Johanson has played with Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, the Neville Brothers, Terrance Simien, JJ Grey, Eric Lindell, Mike Zito, and at events such as the Chicago Blues Festival, the Edmonton Blues Festival, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and the Byron Bay Bluesfest (Australia). At just 30 years old, Eric Johanson has already released 6 albums since 2017, all self-produced or on small labels. He is now given the opportunity through Ruf Records to finally gain international recognition with this new album. Four of his albums have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard "Top Blues Albums Chart." The bassist accompanying him has notably played for Fred Wesley, and the drummer for Ani DiFranco, Warren Haynes, and Tab Benoit. On "The Deep and the Dirty," Eric Johanson is a roots-rock innovator and a modern guitar hero who uses blues as a springboard for a bolder and broader sound. The Louisiana native teams up with producer Jesse Dayton (Rob Zombie, Supersuckers) and a tight power trio, drawing from two barrels of sharp songwriting and fiery fretwork along the way.
