Everyone knows Elmer Food Beat and their extraordinary journey, which saw '30 cm', their first album, break records to reach 650,000 sales and win them the Victoire de la Musique award for Group of the Year in 1991. With Le Bruit Des Potes, their new album, the Nantes-based band once again manages to make us laugh while raising awareness about societal issues (global warming, the danger of influencers...) or moving us with bittersweet songs, all set against an incredibly fun Rock 'n' Roll backdrop." We should be able to hear a first track this Friday, March 17 (2023). On the visual created by "Le Turk," the Nantes rockers stage themselves on their own "Raft of the Medusa," made of plastic beach sandals, FC Nantes socks, and the indispensable landing net, emblem of Manou, the singer. "These times are not really conducive to outright laughter," explains the group. "So, it's not useless to recall this antidote to gloom: "the noise of friends" with whom to share laughter and bread." True to its artistic DNA, Elmer Food Beat intends to "make people laugh seriously" with this new opus. After changing their iconic "Le Plastique c'est fantastique" (Plastic is fantastic) to "Le Plastique c'est dramatique" (Plastic is dramatic) in 2019 to support the Sea Cleaners association, the Nantes band continues its work of raising awareness with the tracks "Réchauffement climatique" (Global warming) and "Tri sélectif" (Selective sorting).
