Shook

Description

DRALMS, the new signing to the Full time Hobby label, unveils its debut album Shook. Captivating, seductive, atmospheric and of rare originality, this record is a true tour de force. DRALMS is the new project of Canadian Christopher Smith, who has already released two EPs under this pseudonym, titled Crushed Pleats and Pillars& Pyre. With the help of his longtime collaborators Shaunn Watt and Peter Carruthers (of Siskiyou) as well as Cilliam Kendrick (of Failing), Smith creates a darker and more complex sound than what he had done before. By integrating Andy Dixon’s electronic beats (Secret Mommy) into his graceful pop, Dralms hits harder, drawing the listener into its depths. Shook is characterized by a clear/obscure atmosphere, a rich and vibrant sound: a world of emotions and extremes. "Clear and vibrant music, a kind of medicated soul shaken by spasms, like Portishead" LesInrocks.com
