Drab Majesty’s first release for Dais Records was the 2015 cassette, Unknown to the I, featuring the title single that would appear on their debut album, Careless, that summer. The additional tracks "Saturn Inc." and "Ultra Violet" were previously only available digitally or as bonus CD tracks. Now, these tracks are finally available on 12" at 45 RPM, bringing all of Drab Majesty's creations from the Careless era (2012-2015) to vinyl, mastered by Josh Bonati with beautiful packaging designed by Nathaniel Young. Drab Majesty is the project of Deb DeMure, the androgyne alter-ego of musician Andrew Clinco, and his partner, Mona D, based in L.A. It combines reverb-drenched guitars, synthesized basslines, towering vocals, and drum machine beats. This project stands out significantly from Andrew's previous performances as a drummer in Marriage and Black Mare. Described as tragic wave and mid-fi by Deb, Drab Majesty eloquently blends classic 80s new wave with touches reminiscent of early 4AD in a futuristic originality. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Deb DeMure composes all elements of Drab Majesty. However, rather than presenting these creations as the result of his personal work, he insists on the importance of inspiration sourced from a parallel world, humbly defining himself as a vessel through which all these external ideas pass.
