Description

Released in 1976, "Stupidity" is the first live album by Dr. Feelgood. Recorded during tours in 1975, its tracks are presented without overdubs, clearly showcasing the dynamic alliance between guitarist Wilko Johnson and singer Lee Brilleaux. Includes "She Does It Right", "All Through the City", "Roxette", "Going Back Home", as well as covers of Bo Diddley (I'm a Man) and Rufus Thomas (Walking the Dog). Side 1 was recorded at Sheffield City Hall on May 23, 1975, and Side 2 at Southend Kursaal on November 8, 1975.50 years ago, Dr Feelgood began their recording career. To celebrate the event, their first 4 albums are reissued in remastered versions (CD and vinyl): 'Down By The Jetty' (1975), 'Malpractice' (1975), the Live 'Stupidity' (1976), and 'Sneakin' Suspicion' (1977). Led by singer Lee Brilleaux and guitarist Wilko Johnson, Dr Feelgood is here at their peak, the flagship of British Pub Rock. On 'Down By The Jetty': the tracks 'She Does It Right', 'Roxette', a cover of John Lee Hooker's 'Boom Boom', and the explosive Live finale 'Bonie Moronie / Tequila'. On 'Malpractice': 'Back In The Night', 'Going Back Home', the cover 'Riot in Cell Block #9'. On the Live 'Stupidity': versions of 'All Through the City', 'Roxette', 'She Does It Right', 'Going Back Home'. On 'Sneakin' Suspicion': 'Walking on the Edge', 'All My Love'.
