DORIS DAY COLLECTION

Description

She will be remembered for, among other things, "Que Sera, Sera", a global hit that brought together the two main pillars of her career: singing and acting. She even has a star for each of them on the "Walk of Fame" in Hollywood. The American was 32 when, in 1956, Alfred Hitchcock gave her the moving role of a mother whose child is kidnapped by Cold War spies in *The Man Who Knew Too Much*. Alongside James Stewart and Daniel Gélin, Doris Day played a tailor-made role: that of a famous singer who belts out "Que Sera, Sera" to signal to her son that the time for his release is near. The song, by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
