The cult band is back with a twelfth album co-produced by Kurt Vile. Originally slated for a mid-2020 release, the temporal trajectory of this record was disrupted by the arrival of the plague. But it would take more than a mere plague to temper the exquisite fury of this trio once they get going. And "Sweep It Into Space" is a masterpiece of composition. Recorded, as usual, at Amherst's Biquiteen, the sessions for "Sweep It Into Space" began in late autumn 2019, after a tour of the West Coast and Southeastern United States. The only additional musician invited to participate on this album is Kurt Vile, who is also a co-producer. As usual, Lou Barlow writes and sings two of the album's twelve songs and Murph's drumming drives the record. Lou's songs here are as elegant as ever. They have a unique and recognizable sound signature, much like the Stooges or Sonic Youth.
