Description

His activities in front of and behind the camera kept him away from the studios for several years. Exactly five years. Five years during which he traveled the world for the Nouveaux Explorateurs of Canal+, to meet those who are heating up the musical heart of Africa, South America, or Asia. After taking the time to digest these enriching experiences as if they were several lifetimes, David Walters returned to writing and creating demos, a groove journey that led him to the prolific Patchworks (Mr Président, Voilààà Sound System, Da Break...). Naturally, the two musical masterminds, often used to composing, playing, and recording their music alone, came together and quickly realized they were on the same wavelength. With Patchworks, David found the sound engineer he was looking for, the dream duo to get back on the right musical track. Before an upcoming album in 2020 on Heavenly Sweetness, "Mama" is the first single. A track where the woody resonance of the balafon, the meditative flute, and the female choirs return to David's Creole roots, evoking the memory of his Caribbean grandfather exiled in New York, but above all, a track dedicated to his grandmother. She, who after the last electro-disco flourishes, comes to recite the lyrics in the final measures.
