Known as the guitarist, singer, and main songwriter of Grizzly Bear, but also for his work with Department of Eagles, Daniel Rossen will wait nearly twenty years before releasing a first album under his own name. Written after several years of self-reflection and a life change that took him from New York to New Mexico, You Belong There develops a universe where chamber folk, baroque music, jazz, and progressive rock intertwine around richly layered arrangements. A multi-instrumentalist, Rossen performs the majority of the guitar, piano, clarinet, and double bass parts, giving rise to compositions like Shadow in the Frame, Unpeopled Space, and I'll Wait for Your Visit, which are among the most personal of his journey.
