CYMANDE released four albums between 1972 and 1981. The band consists of eight members, all from the West Indies (Jamaica and Guyana). They produce music that is a mixture of funk, calypso, rhythm'n'blues, soul, and reggae. Their compositions are strongly inspired by the Rastafari religion. Their most famous tracks are Bra, a dancefloor classic, The Message, and Brothers on the Slide. Their music was generously sampled by a good number of hip-hop producers in the 1990s. The Message was notably used by Mc Solaar on the track Bouge de là and Masta Ace on Me & The Biz, but also by Ruthless Rap Assassins on And It Wasn't A Dream. Remastered reissue of their 3rd album released in 1974. With 3 bonus tracks. Also includes the hit "Brothers On The Slide".
