A colored vinyl reissue of Cymande's legendary "Second Time Round," now available! In 1973, with the release of "Second Time Round," Cymande solidified their place in music history. Children of the Windrush generation, they were part of the first wave of innovators and instigators of the burgeoning Black British music scene. Drawing inspiration from their Guyanese and Jamaican roots, the group fused reggae basslines, Afro-tinged Nyabinghi percussion, touches of psychedelic rock, and American-style funk instrumentation to create a unique sound they dubbed "Nyah-rock." Recorded as the band came off a US tour with Al Green, "Second Time Round" followed their eponymous debut album and firmly entrenched the band in the ears of a loving American audience.
