Craig Finn unveils his fourth album, I Need a New War, with finely crafted, emotionally charged songwriting. I Need A New War, Craig Finn’s 4th solo album, was recorded in 2018 at The Isokon in Woodstock, NY with producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin, who had previously teamed up with Finn on his highly acclaimed solo albums. “Going into it, I saw this record as the third part of a trilogy,” says Craig Finn. The third album in a trilogy, following Faith in the Future in 2015 and We All Want The Same Things in 2017, I Need A New War once again sees Finn expertly chronicling our complex, often bewildering modern era. It also addresses New York, his city for the past 18 years. Several of Craig Finn’s regular collaborators appear on this new album, including horn master Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), pianist Sam Kassirer, singers Annie Nero and Cassandra Jenkins, and the extraordinary drummer Joe Russo.
