We All Want the Same Things

Description

The lyrical and narrative third solo album from The Hold Steady frontman, *We All Want The Same Things*, Craig Finn's new album will be released on March 24th via Partisan Records. It explores themes of love and relationships in our time. According to Finn, "Love appears as a true mystery these days; science and technological progress cannot help us fully understand the notion of love and its role in our lives. But I also view the search for love as an antidote to loneliness." The album features Craig Finn's characteristic elements: well-defined characters, dark humor, and rock compositions that owe much to Springsteen or Dylan. Particularly sophisticated in its arrangements, this new album was produced by his trusted collaborator Josh Kaufman. Finn is primarily known as the frontman of The Hold Steady, with whom he has recorded six critically acclaimed albums. This new album takes us even further into Craig Finn's world, filled with complex and nuanced characters. "These songs are about normal people trying to help each other and move forward, in some cases just to survive; all while trying to define the space that others can occupy in their lives."
