Description

Rather than capturing a specific moment or emotion, Lys is a selection of Löffler's favorite productions from the last three years, carefully compiled into a single enchanting film. The sounds of Lys date back to late 2016, when Löffler was settling back into his studio after Mare, but it really began to take shape in 2018. During this process, he painted, thus establishing a link between his visual and musical work. To capture his deepest feelings, he once again places his voice at the center of his concerns. He also features the voices of Menke, a young Swedish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and Mohna, who has been a staple during his recent tours. Lys is released via Ki Records, Löffler's own label, launched in 2009 as a platform for the music that inspires him. Born and based in the seaside town of Graal-Müritz, Germany, he has always been driven by a desire for creativity. Having painted since his teenage years, he has always strived to capture the essence of everything he creates. His critically acclaimed debut album The Forest saw him expand his sound to include singers like Mohna and Gry.
