Chet Baker And His Quintet With Bobby Jaspar (Chet Baker in Paris Vol. 3)
Description
In 1955, the crooner and trumpet virtuoso gave a series of intense concerts in Paris that left a lasting impression on genre connoisseurs and, above all, fostered the intimate and unique relationship that the French public and Chet Baker would maintain throughout his career.
Signed to Barclay for the occasion, these live recordings demonstrate this unique artist's mastery of his craft.
This third volume brings together music from several different sessions recorded between October 25, 1955, and February 1, 1956. However, only one session (December 26) features Jaspar on tenor saxophone, performing "Chik-Eta" and "How About You?". The other sessions feature Baker leading various ensembles (Quartet/Quintet); this final volume contains some of the finest performances Chet Baker produced during this period.
